Medical Error Report
Recently, The Atlanta Journal Constitution, published an editorial about a new medical report that states that, “Most people will experience at least one medical diagnostic error — an inaccurate or delayed diagnosis — in their lifetime, sometimes with devastating consequences.” This piece, written by Dr. Lawrence B. Schlachter, a board-certified neurosurgeon and attorney in Atlanta, warns that doctors go to great lengths to cover up diagnostic errors for fear of litigation.
He states that this report is, too little; too late,” and that it’s time for the health care industry to hold themselves accountable for medical errors.
